home. as the mile marker numbers become lower and lower on i-64w, i catch a glimpse of the arch in the distance and i feel a gentle tug at my heartstrings. feels weird sometimes to realize that this is home...but it is. home.
but let's backtrack a bit to the start of the final day of this roadtrip...
mass at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville because it's a Sunday, and it's always good to give thanks...especially for keeping me safe on this roadtrip. i had an outfit all planned, a nice dress for church...except at 8:00 in the morning, it was 40 deg F outside! and i didn't bring tights. so i checked my bag for any other clean clothes and.....sweat pants it was. hahaha sorry.
state capitol building, of course.
spent a little time at the centennial park also and took pictures, including their version of the Parthenon.
then off to lunch. i had my heart set on trying this famous nashville hot chicken, Hattie B's. there were two branches. i go to the one closer to where i was at that time....the line was suuuuuper long outside! drove to the other one, maybe about 20 people lining up outside. ok, i thought, i could do this. so i waited and waited for about 30 minutes to get inside and order. got my food after 15 minutes and......it was worth all the wait! love the chicken and the pimiento mac and cheese...the baked beans were so-so.
time-check....12:48pm. it was about 5.5 hours to drive home, and i really wanted to get home early. so i decided to say bye-bye to Nashville and start the journey back home.
sad that the roadtrip ended, but feels good to be back home...to be sleeping in my own bed.
will try to make the mv soon....right now, it feels like it is such a monumental task just to sort through the videos from the "gopro" camera. plus i have to figure out how to break the snapchat stories and rotate parts of them. argh tamaditis once again.
but for now, here are my snappies for the day....
