1 out of 2

omg. these hockey games are going to give me a heart attack.

welp...at least one stl team beat one chicago team tonight. not bad, although the cards beating the cubbies also would have been so much better.

i love how the cards and the blues support each other. every time the blues score a goal, they show it in busch stadium during a cardinals game. ballpark village is packed with fans cheering for both teams. mike matheny saying, "i guess the blues scored" when he heard cheers in the background during a post game interview. yadi and kolten tweeting their support for the blues. ahhh i love teamSTL!

a little side note...jason heyward getting booed loudly in every at bat...he says that's good because at least he knows stl fans wanted him to stay. i say, don't flatter yourself, j-hey, stl fans are booing you not because you left but because you said something hurtful/against the cardinals team. there is a difference.

roadtrip... final thoughts

alright, so i finished the music video....hurrah!

making it though reminded me how much i really did have fun during my roadtrip... sure, the drive was frustrating and draining sometimes, but the fun and excitement far outweigh the exhaustion.

all in all, i think i was able to do most of the things i planned. the storm put a damper on some things but nothing too serious, and i got through them most importantly...all in one piece.

i've said this before, but after doing this roadtrip, i really am quite proud of myself. :)

will i do it again? ABSOLUTELY!

a collective sigh of relief from all cardinals fans everywhere as they win their first of the season. 1 for 4. welp...could be worse. nice to see smiles in the dugout though. and some history made too...3 pinch hit homers, a first in mlb history! wootwoot!
let's go, guys...now let's win the next 158. hahaha!

also, let's go blues!

roadtrip day 4

home. as the mile marker numbers become lower and lower on i-64w, i catch a glimpse of the arch in the distance and i feel a gentle tug at my heartstrings. feels weird sometimes to realize that this is home...but it is. home.

but let's backtrack a bit to the start of the final day of this roadtrip...

mass at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville because it's a Sunday, and it's always good to give thanks...especially for keeping me safe on this roadtrip. i had an outfit all planned, a nice dress for church...except at 8:00 in the morning, it was 40 deg F outside! and i didn't bring tights. so i checked my bag for any other clean clothes and.....sweat pants it was. hahaha sorry.

state capitol building, of course.

spent a little time at the centennial park also and took pictures, including their version of the Parthenon.

then off to lunch. i had my heart set on trying this famous nashville hot chicken, Hattie B's. there were two branches. i go to the one closer to where i was at that time....the line was suuuuuper long outside! drove to the other one, maybe about 20 people lining up outside. ok, i thought, i could do this. so i waited and waited for about 30 minutes to get inside and order. got my food after 15 minutes and......it was worth all the wait! love the chicken and the pimiento mac and cheese...the baked beans were so-so.

time-check....12:48pm. it was about 5.5 hours to drive home, and i really wanted to get home early. so i decided to say bye-bye to Nashville and start the journey back home.

sad that the roadtrip ended, but feels good to be back home...to be sleeping in my own bed.

will try to make the mv soon....right now, it feels like it is such a monumental task just to sort through the videos from the "gopro" camera. plus i have to figure out how to break the snapchat stories and rotate parts of them. argh tamaditis once again.

but for now, here are my snappies for the day....

roadtrip day 3

dead tired but just a quick update....

day started great! spent about an hour on the beach after breakfast....walking and taking pictures.

drove to mobile and then cruised along mobile bay and then searched for a seafood place. had crab claws and oysters with fries and hush puppies, all fried. delicious but i would regret eating all this later.

drove to montgomery for my token state capitol building visit. then went in search for some ice cream.

craving satisfied, i then started on what was supposed to be a 4.5-hour drive to nashville. note to self: never ever take i-65 again. ever. especially on a stomach full of fried stuff. ugh!

after 5.5 hours, i finally checked in to my hotel for the night.

snappies for today....pardon the best actress moment at the end, exhaustion makes me extra crazy. :D

roadtrip day 2

alright, i have decided to just make one mv for the whole trip. soooo day 2 update....

early start, around 7:30 i think....drove to Baton Rouge, took a picture of the capitol building, drove around town a little.

then off to evergreen plantation to try to make the 11:30 tour...made it there with 10 minutes to spare. except the place was closed for the day. lesson learned: check website or call before going. with the pouring rain...and i mean, buckets(!)...no cell signal, and an almost empty gas tank, i tried to find my way to new orleans (for a time with the help of a map....yes, you know, a real map, not the app) and to the nearest gas station.

lunch at about 1:30....tried the fried alligator, liked it, tasted like chicken;) and some pork dish, i can't remember and wasn't really impressed with.

walked around the french quarter and jackson square. tried beignets. went inside st louis cathedral.

drove to my hotel. through a rain storm. again.
ugh! i think i'm following this storm as it makes its way east.

snappy updates today....
